This year Deliveroo reported its first shareholder profits. Meanwhile, riders working in our city are earning less than the minimum wage and are subject to worsening terms and conditions. Food delivery is dangerous work, often done by migrant workers, who have fewer rights and support.

In this context, a group of food delivery workers from Spanish-speaking and South Asian communities have been investigating the exploitative practices of algorithm-driven platforms like Deliveroo and Just Eat, and are mapping a new route towards fair work for gig workers in Scotland.

Discover their insights on how platforms monitor and control work in Edinburgh, and to help shape a route to fair work for on-demand workers in Scotland.
