Rosebank is a huge environmental issue: the potential oilfield is situated right next to a marine protected area and poses a direct threat to the endangered and threatened species that call that area home.
The pipeline needed to transport the oil reserves would cut through a specially protected seabed – the Faroe-Shetland Sponge Belt. It could harm this delicate ecosystem and the extraordinary creatures like sensitive deep sea sponges and clams that can live for over 500 years. Climate change is already creating irreversible damage to our endangered ecosystems.
As ocean lovers, now is the time to come together and tell the UK Government that we won’t accept the approval of Rosebank.
This event is open to everyone, regardless of whether you have previous involvement in the campaign or have never heard of it!
We publish events and consultations in our calendar which we hope will be of interest to our members and supporters. We strive to be accurate in these listings, so please contact us if you see an error or problem. The organisers of third-party events (coded blue) are mostly unconnected to us, and we have no control over these.
If you know of an event that you would like to see listed here, please let us know.
