I’ve been planning on writing an update on the Greenbank-Meadows Quiet Route for some time but every time I have begun a blog post, unexpected changes and delays have meant that I’ve needed to revisit the drafts I have written.
That trend has continued as, just as I was planning to hit send on an update this morning, the news has broken that two councillors in the Morningside ward, Cllr Marie-Clair Munro and Cllr Neil Ross are facing a standards hearing over their participation in the initial decision to remove the traffic filters from the scheme given an alleged conflict of interest.
My understanding is that any action to remove infrastructure along the route will now be delayed until the Standards Commission hearing which is scheduled for 11th March. I will update everyone accordingly, once I’ve heard more.
